The workings

The 5BY2 automatic parking solution is based on the well known puzzle, where by sliding little squares one can obtain an integrated picture. In our case we do not create a picture, we move cars on top of the squares, or pallets, to ensure that we can park a car into the garage when it is dropped off and then later return it to the owner when it is picked up.

Our automatic parking garages have many dozens of pallets, potentially divided over multiple floors. Each pallet can occupy one car, which it has picked up in the entry module of the garage. In most cases the car is turned such that when it is picked up it faces the exit direction. As the pallets can be lined up adjacently we do not lose space for the manoeuvring of the car. We only need 6 to 8 empty places per 100 cars to allow shuffling around the garage.

Efficiency

5BY2 owes its name to the size of the parking place that we need. We do not need space to transport the car, we do not need space to manoeuvre the car, we do not need to open car doors in the garage and we do not need to be able to walk there either. All we need is a little over 10 square meters, plus a few empty spaces, hence 12 square meters, against the 25-30 square meters required in conventional parking.

Due to the greater effectiveness in use of floor plan, as well as the win on the height due to the absence of people in the garage, we can offer a capacity gain of up to 200% in the same volume.

Less space required results in either less digging for the same number of parking places or gaining precious space. That’s why you find our automatic parking garages in places where digging is expensive, risky or impossible and/or where space is expensive. Therefore virtually all our garages have been constructed in inner city developments.

Reliability

Automatic parking garages sadly do not have a good reputation. People may at some point have had their cars stuck in a garage when there was a system failure. 5BY2 garages do not encounter such problems. Due to our nearly 20 years of experience, you can be sure that we know how to make our garages work. Our first garages are a shining example of reliability as they still work to full satisfaction. Speed and safety

Automatic parking without any waiting for your car does not exist. But don’t forget that you gain substantial time when dropping the car off. We can also enable that your car is placed near the exit on pick up, provided you have given some advanced notice. And do not forget that walking to your car and leaving the conventional style garage would not be instantaneous either. We believe that on balance, in most cases, there is an overall timesaving.

Moreover the garage is automatic, so nobody enters the garage, therefore you and your belongings are secure at all times too. As the car remains on the pallet, we never need to touch your car, as is done in other systems. In conventional parking in a busy garage there is plenty of opportunity for damage due to narrow lanes, tight corners, other drivers, etc. In our systems there is no chance of damage to the car.
